Welcome to St Michael’s, a church whose history and continuing life is firmly in the Catholic tradition of the Church of England. Since the foundation of the parish in 1871, this church has faithfully served the people of West Croydon and those who travel especially to worship with us.
The Mass is celebrated with traditional solemnity every day in our beautiful Gothic Revival building. On Sundays and Holy Days our worship is adorned by the music of our choir and organ. A children’s area is set aside at the West end of the nave.
The church is usually open from 9.30am to 3pm Monday to Friday. Visitors are welcome to come in to pray or light a candle, or just to enjoy a few moments of peace. We also have a shop selling greetings cards, rosaries and devotional items. Our modern church hall can be hired for functions.
St Michael’s is affiliated to The Society under the patronage of St Wilfrid and St Hilda. Having passed a Resolution in accordance with the House of Bishops’ Declaration on the Ministry of Bishops and Priests, we remain under the pastoral care of the Bishop of Fulham.
