Pearson Festival | 6 July 2019

St Michael's was designed by the famous Gothic Revival architect, John Loughborough Pearson. There are several of his other works in London, including St John, Upper Norwood and St Peter, Vauxhall in the Diocese of Southwark, and St Augustine, Kilburn in the Diocese of London.

Each year, choirs from local Pearson churches gather to sing a service together.

This year there will be Choral Evensong and Benediction at St Michael's on Saturday 6 July 2019 at 6pm.

We look forward to welcoming the Dean of Truro, The Very Revd Roger Bush, as our preacher. Truro Cathedral is another fine Pearson building, and the home to the famous Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols.

The music at the service will be as follows:

Introit: Oculi omnium (Charles Wood)

Responses: Bernard Rose

Canticles: Collegium Regale (Charles Wood)

Anthems: God is gone up (Gerald Finzi); Te Deum in F (John Ireland)

All are welcome to join us for this celebration, after which there will be a reception.
