Lent

Collect for Ash Wednesday: our prayer cards for commuters at East Croydon Station.

Lent is the Church’s principal penitential season. It lasts forty days in all, representing the time that Jesus spent in the Wilderness. For Christians it is a time for self-examination, fasting and penance, and an opportunity for us to prepare for the great Easter festivities, celebrating Jesus’ resurrection from the dead.

We hope you will be able to join us in some of our extra devotions during the season of Lent. Details are below.

Ash Wednesday – 14th February 2018
Low Masses:  7.30am and 12.30pm
Sung Mass:    8.00pm with music by Palestrina & Scarlatti

Ashes will be imposed at all Masses that day.

Also on Ash Wednesday, Fr Philip and a group of parishioners will be offering prayers and imposition of ashes for commuters at East Croydon Station, between 7am & 9am. Do join them!

Stations of the Cross
This traditional devotion will be offered every Wednesday  and Friday during Lent at 11.45am. The order of service will appear here soon, if you wish to use it as part of your private prayers.

Confession Times

It is a good spiritual practice for catholic Christians to make our confession before and/or during Lent. Please see the weekly bulletin for times when Fr Tim is available to hear confessions. Do also contact him if you have not made your confession before and would like some information about how to do so.
