Our New Pastoral Assistants

Fr Tim was pleased to announce last Sunday that we have appointed two new Pastoral Assistants who will join us in September.

Will and Michael are both students at present, and we look forward very much to welcoming them to St Michael’s in the new academic year. They will take part in the daily round of prayer and worship in the parish, as well as with pastoral visiting, our chaplaincy at Croydon College, and work with local schools and hospitals. Read more about them below!

Michael Dixon writes:

I grew up just outside Mansfield in Nottinghamshire and went on to attend the University of Sheffield where I am currently studying for a BA in History and Russian. For the past couple of years I have begun to feel that God is calling me to a vocation, which I believe will lead to ordained ministry. I view my time in Croydon as a wonderful opportunity to experience life in a diverse, urban parish and look forward to meeting and getting to know everybody there. I have varied interests that  include all things Russian, art, architecture, cricket and Sheffield United Football Club.

Will Lyon Tupman writes:

I’m currently studying for a Masters in Biblical Studies and Theology at King’s College London. I am exploring with the Church as to what my vocation is, and seeing if God is leading me to ordained ministry. I am a keen runner, musician and photographer. I love spending time with my family and friends, and I’m looking forward to meeting and serving you all when I come on what will be an exciting and formative placement.
